It's finally sweater weather here in the desert. Winter arrives suddenly and dramatically here, with a cold front that blows down from the north and the trees rush to shed their leaves. I'm craving cozy colors and loving introspection.
Making this picture felt really freeing and unpressured for me, just exploring the movement of the paint on the paper. A little bit different color palette for me too, breaking away from my familiar blues.
Perhaps life doesn't feel quite so blue anymore.
My heart today honestly feels a little bit warmer, a little bit more hopeful, a little bit more like basking in warm, healing sunlight, wrapped up in autumn's sweater.
When I asked my friends to help me give her a name, here are some of the descriptions they came up with:
"Like honey in our hearts"
"Still, I rise"
"Seeing optimism and determination in the eyes"
"Reflection comes to mind for me. She seems to be contemplating her next steps, and yes, determination"
"I see strength and determined excitement at what lies ahead. I think she is looking at her goal with wonder (the awe) and bright determination and confidence that she will achieve it."
